CENPROMYPE

Improving Access to Finance

Imagine a world...

where every small enterprise in Central America can access the funds to fuel their growth and contribute meaningfully to the economy, community, and planet.

Micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) are the backbone of Central America’s economy. They account for 70-90% of the employment in the region. In spite of their critical role, MSMEs often face formidable challenges in accessing the financing necessary to scale their operations and drive innovation.

Recognizing the importance of MSMEs for economic resilience and social inclusion, Innovation North has partnered with The Chair on Impact Management to launch the formulation phase of CENPROMYPE’s Consolidar Programme. Consolidar aims build capacity, improve access to financing, and foster collaboration among MSMEs in Central America. The first phase involves in-depth research and stakeholder engagement, including interviews and workshops across Central America, which will uncover the unique economic, cultural, and institutional factors to improve the ability of local MSMEs to access finance.
